Shrink-wrapped package lines according to the Möllers contour hooder shrink-wrapped system are largely composed of machines from the Möllers palletizing and shrink-wrap technology. The basic configuration is composed of the smallest unit from a stacking machine functioning as a Palletizer type PFS with upstream sack-smoothing station, a Combi-FSA tubular-film positioning machine, a stacking, turning and flattening station as well as the connecting roller-track elements.The line can be varied in such a way that it is suited to forming normal pallet loads with and without hood shrinking.

For the fulfillment of greater capacity requirements Möllers has brought out three different types of unit in various machinery configurations. On the type PKS-K which has been evolved from the PKS 1 contour-hooder shrink-wrap packaging line, the turned stack of packages is forwarded once again to the tubular-film positioning machine via a by-pass conveyor link. The unit produces up to 40 packages/hr.

Type PKS-2 Compact forwards the turned stack of packages into a second Combi-FSA to position the contour-hooder and can form up to 70 packages/hr. The high-capacity contour-hooder shrink-wrap packaging line PKS 2HL comprises, apart from the stacking unit, two tubular-film FSA positioning machines per unit and separate shrink frames and achieves up to 120 contour-hooder shrink-wrap packages/hr.
